The green tea plants used for matcha are shade-grown for three to four weeks before harvest and the stems and veins are removed during processing.

During shaded growth, the green tea plant produces more theanine and caffeine giving it it's characteristic flavor.

This matcha is one that you can drink over and over again either on it's own or with your favorite Japanese sweets or desserts.

While you can get all the special accessories traditionally used to make matcha (for example during a traditional tea ceremony.)

You don't need them.
